A Boring Job That Is So Worth It

I have to keep telling myself that.

Because it’s beginning again……

primer

that tedious job of painting trim.

I was on a quest not too long ago to rid my house of all of this stained trim.

I stopped short in the kitchen. I have cabinets to paint in here too.
They just seem to overwhelm me.

Maybe if I just started on the trim then that might get me going and I might get the cabinets done too.

Sounds good right?

We shall see.

p.s.  As I was going back to find the post about the trim I already painted so I could link to it,
I discovered it was over a YEAR AGO.
What?? Could that really be?

That is just pathetic. I am going to go paint right now.
You guys just bug me about it until it’s done, okay?

I’m counting on you.

Crap, it's 9:00

I'll start in the morning.

I swear.

  5. Feeling your pain here....
Morning sounds like a good time to start, but wait, maybe you should go out and take a nice walk first to clear your head...then maybe shop, then catch up on blog reading, then cook something great for dinner.....oops, now it's too late to get started painting today. Better wait until tomorrow morning. lol ;)
    (that's my typical avoidance tactic)

  8. Sometimes the "starting" is the hardest part to a new (or continuing) project! I actually enjoy the mindlessness of painting but the getting ready to paint I do not enjoy.

  9. Why put off today what you can get to tomorrow? Isn't that how it should go?

  10. Anita, I need to do the same thing and have been putting it off. Good reminder that I need to get started on mine! I guess we need to keep in mind that the end result will be well worth it!

  14. Starting is the hard part... but I'm guilty of painting the trim with primer.. it was not bad and never did get the actual paint on it..haha
    Hope you keep going!

  15. The priming is the worst. After that, the paint will seem fun! Yes! Fun! Go, Anita!

  16. Omgah...I was just dreading this chore myself. I have my cra(p)ft room furniture all moved to the middle of the room so I could start on the trim priming today. And here I sit, browsing blogs. I think the universe is telling me it's time to pick up the stupid brush and get to it as your post was the second click of the morning. :)

    Thanks a lot. I think. :)

At least I know there's another blogger out there doing the deed as I am!
